    Introduction Vers la fin de sa vie, au cours du discours prononcé à l’occasion de son Jubilé cinquantenaire d’économiste à l’Université de Lausanne, intitulé « Ruchonnet et le socialisme scientifique », Léon Walras remarquait : Il est certain, d’abord, que la détermination du salaire au moyen de grèves et de lock-outs, c’est-à-dire, en définitive, par échange de coups de pierre, contre coups de fusil, est un procédé sauvage. Mais il l’est également que, pour substituer à ce procédé celui de l...

    Authors: Mayer, Jean-Christophe;

    Politics and power are two terms which have become ubiquitous in Shakespeare criticism and Renaissance studies in general. Their meaning has also considerably broadened to the extent that it is sometimes difficult to grasp their true sense. This causes one to forget that politics — and indeed the term “political” — had a specific meaning for Tudor political theorists: the Word “political” was closely associated to the definition of sovereignty. On the Elizabethan stage, the picture was quite different. Politicians were first and foremost opposed to the figure of the Christian king, they were often turned into scapegoats and caricatured. Gradually, however, the image of sovereignty changed, strong oppositions disappeared, as the sovereign became himself a “politician” and sought to withdraw his private person behind the official image of sacred kingship. Shakespeare's histores and tragedies reflect the presence of these absolutist tendencies but do not seem to allow them to become fully realized on stage. The theatre is prone to dissolve the abstract ideals of political theory and to question the aspirations of sovereigns.

  • Authors: Le Tyrant, Marion; Vernazza-Licht, Nicole; Bley, Daniel;

    International audience; This article examines the question of the application of "sanitary and environmental measures" against the expansion of the tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) in metropolitan France for about ten years. The drafting, in 2006, of the Anti-Dissemination Plan for Chikungunya and Dengue in Metropolitan France (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health), initiated a public takeover of this risk, mobilizing since then an important network of actors .The idea of disproportion is here related to the feelings and attitudes involved in the existence and practical implementation of the Anti-Dissemination Plan, especially during special mosquito control operations designed to minimize the risk of local transmission of the virus. The professionals responsible for carrying out these operations and the populations benefiting from this measure may have different and even antagonistic representations of the threat and the public response.To highlight the distortions between planned measures (put into action) and disproportion in the management of situations in the field, the study is based on two anthropological field studies, in Corsica and Banyuls-sur-Mer in the Eastern Pyrenees.; Cet article examine la question de l’application des « mesures sanitaires et environnementales » engagées face à l’expansion du moustique tigre ( Aedes albopictus) en métropole depuis une dizaine d’années. La rédaction, dès 2006, du Plan anti-dissémination du chikungunya et de la dengue en métropole (Ministère des affaires sociales et de la santé), a initié une prise en charge publique de ce risque, mobilisant depuis lors un important réseau d'acteurs. L’idée de démesure est ici liée aux sentiments et aux attitudes qu’impliquent l’existence et la mise en œuvre concrète du Plan anti-dissémination, en particulier lors des opérations spéciales de démoustication destinées à minimiser le risque de transmission locale du virus. Les professionnels chargés de la réalisation de ces opérations et les populations bénéficiaires de cette mesure peuvent avoir des représentations de la menace et de la réponse publique différentes, voire antagonistes. Pour mettre en évidence les distorsions entre mesures prévues (mises en action) et démesure dans la gestion des situations sur le terrain, l'étude s'appuie sur deux études anthropologiques de terrain, en Corse et Banyuls-sur-Mer dans les Pyrénées Orientales.

    Dans le vaste champ de recherches que propose l’histoire religieuse et culturelle médiévale, défriché avec tant de bonheur par Hervé Martin, l’analyse des images rencontre un succès croissant et ses méthodes ont été profondément renouvelées ces dernières années. Les derniers siècles du Moyen Âge en ont particulièrement profité car les images connaissent à cette époque une multiplication et une diversification sans précédent, au point que Jean-Claude Schmitt, dans un article récent des Annales...

    Authors: Rieu, Alain-Marc;

    La fonction du Confucianisme dans l'histoire de la société et de la culture chinoise, les débats et les reconstructions dont il est l'objet et l'enjeu, ouvre la possibilité de l'étudier d'un point de vue anthropologique, au delà des approches doctrinaires (philosophiques) et historiques habituelles. L'étude se réfère principalement à l'anthropologie française de la Grèce ancienne (J.P. Vernant) et aux travaux de Philippe Descola. L'objectif est de montrer que le Confucianisme fonctionne comme une "mythologie" et qu'il peut être étudié comme tel. Research in Anthropology developed in France by Jean-Pierre Vernant, Marcel Détienne and Philippe Descola opens the possibility to reframe the debate and research on the function of Confucianism in Chinese culture, history and society. This paper shows how Confucianism can be studied as a "mythology"

    Authors: Biard, Michel;

    S’appuyant sur une étude des épurations successives de la Convention nationale, cette proposition de communication tente d’appréhender non « la politisation des peurs », mais les peurs des politiques, en l’occurrence de certains « hommes politiques » : les représentants du peuple membres de la Convention. Trois points successifs sont abordés : la manière dont l’inviolabilité des députés née en 1789 a pu être bafouée à partir de l’automne 1792 dans une République contrainte, dès sa naissance, à ne point respecter une liberté indéfinie des opinions ; les temps forts où peut se repérer la peur de prendre la parole au sein de cette Assemblée ou dans d’autres lieux où s’expriment les conventionnels ; l’utilisation a posteriori de la peur comme alibi politique par ceux qui ont préféré s’en tenir à une prudente réserve plutôt que de s’engager dans des luttes fratricides vite devenues inexpiables. Based on a study of successive purges of the Convention nationale, this communication aims to study political fears, in this case of some “politicians” representatives people members of the Convention. The evocation of three successive points is considered: how the inviolability of deputies born in 1789 could be harmed from autumn 1792 in a constraint Republic from birth to not enforce an indefinite liberty of opinion; highlights that can identify the fear of speaking in this Assembly or in other places where members of the Convention expressed; use post of fear as a political alibi by those who preferred to stick to a prudent reserve rather than engage in fratricidal struggles quickly became implacable.

    Authors: Piron, Sylvain;

    During the last two decades of the thirteenth Century, the practice of quodlibetal disputes by masters of theology spread out of the Paris University, most notably within franciscan provincial studia in southern France and Italy, where theology lecturers without a proper university degree would dispute de quolibet. Three such characters left a written record of such events : Peter John Olivi in Montpellier and Narbonne, Petrus de Trabibus in Florence and Vital du Four in Montpellier and Toulouse. These Quodlibets are presented here, together with contemporary parisian Quodlibets by franciscan masters, such as Richard de Menneville (Mediavilla), Petrus de Falco, some minor masters and the nine series ascribed to Raymond Rigaud, out of which some have probably been disputed in the Toulouse studium.; Au cours des deux dernières décennies du treizième siècle, la pratique des disputes quodlibétiques, lors desquelles les maîtres en théologie répondaient à des questions de toute sorte posées par l'auditoire, s'est diffusée hors de l'université parisienne. C'est notamment le cas des centres d'études franciscains du Midi et d'Italie où des lecteurs en théologie, dépourvus du grade de docteur, organisaient de telles sessions. Trois d'entre eux en ont laissé un témoignage écrit : Pierre de Jean Olivi à Montpellier et Narbonne, Pierre de Trabibus à Florence et Vital du Four à Montpellier et Toulouse. Ces Quodlibets sont présentés ici, parallèlement aux Quodlibets universitaires franciscains par Richard de Menneville (Mediavilla), Pierre de Falco, quelques maîtres mineurs et les neuf Quodlibets de Raymond Rigaud, dont certains ont probablement été disputés au studium de Toulouse.
